I was rewatching POI 1x06 (aka Zoe's first episode) when I spontaneously combusted from the adorableness of John Reese.

So Harold at one point asks John, "Assuming that [Zoe's] the victim and not the perpetrator, who would want to take her out?" And John responds with, "Who wouldn't?" Except that he's not talking about potential threats, he's talking about taking her out. Like on a date. With food and flowers.

I CANNOT HANDLE THIS HOW DID I ONLY CATCH IT ON THE REWATCH IT IS TOO CUTE.

How A Reader's Feminist Critique Changed My Sci-Fi Novel

Natalie Morales would like you to know nothing about her, except for one thing…

These were delightful reads after an already delightful day.

In random things: I plan on overhauling my DW tagging system very soon. I started as a fic journal, but I post a lot about life now, and those tags need to be sorted so I can find them. Some tags are near identical. Some probably make sense only to me, but well. Feel free to ask if you're curious!

[community profile] fandomgiftbox sign ups close very soon!

Also, my welcome thing's a fkn mess. Must fix.

The absolute best Shoot vid I've seen thus far, and I've seen plenty. Set to a cover of 99 Problems that I originally found on the Blacklist, to my delight. Features girls with guns and a Shaw + food montage. What's not to love?

There is secondary audio/dialogue layered over the music, in case that's the kind of thing that ticks you off in vids, but IMHO it's handled really well in this vid. It's all so well timed and doesn't clash with the music. It's really well edited.

[Background for you if you magically got here without being linked to it - I wrote this up as part of my fandom stocking post when I asked for music recs, and then realized that it was a bit, ahem, long.]

[Oh, and yes, I have a stocking! I'll make sure to link to it when it's up :D]

Genre talk. )

This brings me to the conclusion of this long winded ramble on music I love. I hope it helped! And even if it didn't, I hope you had fun!

MARIA MENA RELEASED A NEW ALBUM LIKE A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT.

And it's not shit!!! The album before this, she tried to go synth, and she did it SO BADLY and I was really sad but now she's back to piano and I AM IN LOVE.

That is all.

I'm not crossposting these, so no header. I wrote these last night at about one a.m. for writerverse's lightning round, these are the first words I've written in a while, they're probably shit. Mostly here for the sake of having one single place for all my fanfic.

100 words each. Sara&Emily x 2, Sara/Bryan, Sara/Neal x 2. Rated R because of one curse word. Be prepared for too many damn heart metaphors and angst and internal contradictions. Sleepy writings. Whatever.

Day 23 - A song that you want to play at your wedding

I don't plan on getting married, so I'm going to interpret this as a song that describes my romantic hopes and dreams.

one

Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift, featuring Ed Sheeran.

I'm a Swiftie, OK? And I have serious feels for this song. And the video is completely adorable. And I love it!

I think what I like about the song is the simplicity. It's not complicated love, it's not overly romantic, it's not grand gestures, it's two people singing about getting to know each other. And I'd like that. I'd like it to be easy. I don't want difficult and painful and complicated, I want simple.

two

Somewhere Only We Know, as covered by Lily Allen. This is probably only here because it's a piano heavy song, but whatever.

This isn't quite a lovesong, but it's about the kind of relationship I want, someday. It's not explicit in the lyrics, but I hear about a relationship built on mutual faith, trust, all the good things, basically.

Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting tired and I need someone to rely on.

three

Tell Her You Love Her by Echosmith. All of it. I just... all of it. To me, it subtly explains how I'm very breakable and how I don't get over stuff easily and it's everything I want and need and whatever and it's just perfect. It helps that the lead singer has a really, really lovely voice.

This song also reminds me that one person can't prop up a relationship, can't do all the work. It has to be both of them. Which is odd, considering the lyrics, but whatever, brain vomit :P

ETA: Oops, accidentally linked to Lady Antebellum's Dancing Away With My Heart instead of the Echosmith song. I think it's fixed now :D
